I then walked several metres west to the Hendaia terminus station of the San Sebastian Metro for a local. I got my ticket from a vending machine, paying by tapping my card. The reason the French line doesn't continue into Spain is due to the different gauge of their tracks.About an hour later I arrived at San Sebastian's Amara Station. It was late in the afternoon but it was still light and cool. Spain is on the same timezone as France.I took a brisk walk to my backpacker accommodation. I needed to get there before check-in closed. The lady at the counter wanted to leave work soon and rushed me through the check-in but fortunately I had done most of the paperwork online.
Next up, dinner.
