It was Saturday and I had one more day in Santander to mop up any remaining sights. At the Ayuntamiento (city council) building I found this event Dosis de Sonrisas, organised by an association against childhood cancer. It brought a splash of colour to a somewhat drizzly day.
Just behind the city council building is the Mercado de la Esperanza (Market of Hope). This is the corner with J. Enriquez, merchant of
aceitunas y encurtidos (olives and pickles) as a photo of the shop sign on the Internet shows.

A half-hour walk to the east found me at the Mercado del Este again where people were having lunch.

In the evening I ventured out for dinner and came across this art cinema on a side street. I liked the neon look and the wet street.
I ended up at another Japanese restaurant.
Partly because I was tempted by an eel and rice bowl.
Time to resume the westward journey the next day.
